YIN YOGA

Yin yoga is a slower practice targeting deeper myofascial connective tissue and our joints while soothing our central nervous system.⁣

Though slower, the functional approach to Yin yoga has us in longer held (3-5 minutes) stretches regulating breath while gently lengthening fascia, muscles and increasing our range of motion through mild stress of the joints.⁣

Stored emotions and sense of resistance may arise during the practice as we release tension in the hips teaching us not to be defined or confined by passing transitory states

In Yin Yoga, most classes offer bolster pillows, yoga blocks and straps as support in long held targeted stretches. Yin can also be practiced without props and is open to all levels yoga practitioners and athletes.
